History

Butler Concrete and Aggregate, a recognized leader in the industry, continues to grow and meet the changing needs of its customers.

The Butler Family

Although Butler Concrete & Aggregate Ltd. was incorporated in 2018, the Butler family has been a part of the history of the Saanich Peninsula since Captain George Stephen Butler began farming here in 1868.  The “Butler Brothers” were Claude, Wally, Tom, and Eric – all grandchildren of the Captain.

Eric’s son, Brian Butler, undertook the leadership of the company in the 1980s with a streamlined focus on building success through service and quality.  Butler Concrete & Aggregate is the next generation, continuing to run as a family business under the leadership of the Captain’s great-great-grandson, Travis Butler.

In keeping with the long-established and trusted history as an industry leader, Butler Concrete & Aggregate is an ethical and environmentally conscious business.  The company continues to expand its efforts for a cleaner, greener operation in its product offerings as well as its plants, pits, and offices.

Today, we operate three gravel pits – Keating Cross Road, Sooke, and Duncan – and supply ready-mix concrete from Keating Cross Road, Bay Street in Victoria and Sooke.
